Dear News Outlets,
Seriously, why is this story still coming up? It happened. The dude didn’t die, you say it the one time as a segue from news to sports on the 10 o’clock news and thats it. No more. We don’t care. Even the staff at the hospital, the people that help others for a living know that no one cares:
On Sunday, hospital spokeswoman Valerie Hoven said Hoffman remained in stable condition.

Kay Quinn Tweets Through Her Furlough
Now her furlough is over, but for a second there it looked like we were going to be seeing the “[Insert activity here] on my furlough.” for everything she broadcast to Twitter last week.
Seems odd to be broadcasting the fact your company sent you home with no pay for a week. Looking for a new job Kay?
…also, I know you can find a better photo than that for your Twitter picture!

Extension Be Dammed: KDNL To Drop Analog TV Signal Today
We hear that despite the extension recently passed into law that now makes the Digital TV transition cut off June 12th, KDNL will make the “switch” and cut off their analog TV signal today, the original DTV cut-off date.
We’ve looked around and it seems all other St. Louis TV broadcasters will continue to push on with the analog signal until the new June 12th date.
For the record, we’re with KDNL on this one.

Bonneville’s Staff to Lose Their Free Starbucks
Times are tough everywhere, especially in the radio biz. So tough that one of the staff’s favorite work perks over at Bonneville (the company that runs WIL 92.3, 106.5 The Arch, 101 ESPN and ToastedRav.com), free Starbucks coffee in the break room, is going away. We hear the machine itself might stay, but the staff will be expected to pony up for their morning joe starting as soon as next week maybe.

Update x3 below!
Breaking news reported first by PunchingKitty.com!
So much for the reunion of Vic and Trish on The Big 550 AM, as of today Vic has been let go as well as Frank Brian Kelly in the news room. There was no mention of a specific reason for the chopping other than “Radio doesn’t make any money these days.

KMOV Axes John Mills
Our friends at the Riverfront Times’ blog STLog broke the news that channel 4, KMOV, have dropped the hammer on yet another employee. This time it was veteran of 13 years John Mills.
John left a note to his…fans? …I guess…on his website:
“I am deeply grateful to the people of St. Louis for all their support over the past 13 years.
“Most especially, I want to recognize the victims of crime, discrimination and natural disaster.
