This morning KMOX posted a story about a Wright City, Missouri man was hoarding a stash of panties, sex toys, and “feminine hygiene products” he allegedly acquired from various burglaries. Though calling this a “Hot Topic” seems a little strong, local NBC affiliate KSDK has announced their move to kill all the fun of day-time reruns and instead bring us nearly a full day of news and “news-like” programming for a city that pretty much only has the Cardinals, the Rams, murders, and tornados to cover. It seems pretty clear that the sheer amount of murders to cover in a given day necessitated the new-centric schedule, but we’ll let them tell you about all the great people they have. [Read More]

We were alerted by our tipsters that, bizarrely enough, NBC’s national news story about how everyone is pissed off at all politicians, no matter their affliliation, should be set at Woofies hot dogs in Overland.

Sure to be thrilled with the news are some of our local celebrities got to be national celebrities for a second when you can catch their autographed 8×10 in the background. Take for instance Fox2 anchor Kevin Steincross’ glossy by the door:

It’s all coming together for Overland, Missouri now! We hear NBC has more plans for our little suburb, as shooting should begin on Overland’s To Catch a Predator episode any day now. …or maybe we made that up. You don’t know. Just to be safe, if you head off to any meetings in Overland with a young child, make sure you bring plenty of condoms and Mike’s Hard Lemonade. We hear they go easier on you if you bring gifts.

A little while back we told you about the brewing war between St. Louis’ NBC affiliate KSDK and St. Louis Cops. It appears channel 5’s reporter Leisa Zigman didn’t feel reportery enough so she got out her fedora, tucked her press pass in the band and went off to uncover a scandal! Long story short, she didn’t find one. Instead, Zigman decided to do a “report” on St. Louis police officers parking in no-parking spaces throughout the city, including in front of their own station! A St. Louis couple decided to sell off their Jacko memorabilia on EBay, and actually netted some pretty good dough for the stuff. Not only that, but they got on TV! Thats right, they made the local news and took the time to record the news broadcasts with their camera and upload it to YouTube. …they also, inadvertently, managed to illustrate how lame and formulaic local TV news has gotten.
