From KSDK.com‘s front page last night:
Bernie vs Fox 2 and the Globe Democrat
Late last night the iconic St. Louis sports reporter, Bernie Miklasz broke the story that the Rams are to be purchased by a relatively late-comer to the Rams sweepstakes: Illinois businessman Shahid Khan.
Awesome! Big story! …however all was not right. As the racists came out of the woodwork to comment horrible things about the likely new Rams owner on the STLToday.com comments section, a Thursday war of words between the media was brewing.

Are Some Schools Closing? I Can’t Tell.
Try to watch a Conan repeat on KSDK on a cold snowy night in St. Louis and see if you can tell if any schools are closing tomorrow. Here’s a photo from last night:
Where are they…hmmm….ah found them! Bottom of the screen with the snowflakes. (Nice touch)
There are seriously loads of problems with this, so lets toss out some easy ones like oh the fact that internet might be a way better place for this kinda crap, and start with a simple one: Are you freakin’ serious with the size of this thing?

News Chopper 5 Has Been Grounded
More cost-cutting measures continue to be created to keep our struggling local news operations afloat. One of the more recent ones is KSDK, channel 5’s move to dismantle their news helicopter.
From the rumor mill over on STLMedia.net:
As of February 1st KSDK no longer has a news helicopter. The camera has been removed from chopper 5. In a cost cutting move KSDK is negotiating with KMOV for a “shared use” of aerial footage, but has yet to sign an agreement.

Jon Hamm Drops the Highschool Question on Saturday Night Live
Jesus. It’s come to this. St. Louisian Jon Hamm hosted Saturday Night Live last night and dropped the old “Where did you go to high school?” line to a national audience. Missed it? We have the video below:
Yes, we know its just a line in one of those “last few of the night that really aren’t that good but if we don’t let the new guy get a sketch he’s written on the air soon he’s going to kill himself” sketches, but still this is getting out of hand.

Fox 2’s Charlie Marlow Has a Message For You
Who says professional journalism is dead? Fox2’s Charlie Marlow is out there keeping the standards high by doing what any drunk frat guy would do when a camera is pointed at him.
This isn’t so bad. I hear there are photos out there of Peter Jennings giving the Shocker to an Asian hooker.
Fox 2 Sends Reporter to Haiti, Probably Can’t Pay to Bring Them Back
According to the St. Louis Business Journal, Fox 2 has decided to send a report to Haiti…because apparently there isn’t a single stock photo or video of Haiti around anywhere! Sadly, its not Rich Gould.
Fox 2 News’ Roche Madden and cameraman John McClelland have hopped aboard a U.S. Air Force cargo plane at Scott Air Force base headed to Haiti. Madden will be the only St. Louis television reporter reporting from Haiti.

Blind Item: A Comeback and a Dust-off?
What former high-flying star of St. Louis wants a local comeback as bad as he wanted out of a small local media ownership group?
We hear that he recently made the choice to do what he has never been known to do, drop his long-time holdings in the company after their recent, and what many think is an ill-advised, acquisition.
Now that its all off his hands he just needs another ownership group to take his calls.

Kurt Greenbaum Thinks He Did Nothing Wrong (with video)
precedent noun |ˈpresid(ə)nt| an earlier event or action that is regarded as an example or guide to be considered in subsequent similar circumstances Just a little note for our friend Kurt Greenbaum. After watching a video we received tonight from the guys over at STLtomorrow of Greenbaum shakily talking about the infamous incident at his recent public appearance, its clear he has no idea what the word means.
From the video (embedded below):

Greenbaum to Giving Tips About How to Handle New Media?!
You really can’t make this stuff up. I tried to make up something as crazy as this once but it ended up no one thought it was all that funny, we had to land the plane in Colorado, and I’m pretty sure I’m on the no-fly list now.
If there ever were doubts about whether the public has opinions about the news, the arrival of online reader comments has dispelled them.
