The Secret Sound Festival is going down on the city’s coolest street this weekend with a crap load of indie bands. Tickets to the festival come with all the free “Oh that band? Yeah. The Stone Temple Pilots, the great 90-alternative rock group, has released word that they are canceling their tour stops between September 21st and “mid-October” for a “short break” in the tour. The missing dates, which includes the previously scheduled stop in St. Louis on September 30th, will not be rescheduled, and we found this note left from the members of STP to you, their St. Louis fans. It reads: Dear Non-Rock Stars, [Read More]

Nelly Surprise at Downtown Chuck Berry Concert

Glad to see Nelly is allowed to preform somewhere these days. Though by the time the show started it wasn’t much of a secret, Nelly’s “surprise” appearance in which he shared the stage with fellow native St. Louisan Chuck Berry at the Democratic Convention concert downtown last night sure geeked a lot of people up anyway. Hopefully the fancy dinner and dancing date we took the Democratic Party officials on where we pushed our boobs up and wore that dress that our mom thinks is slutty, but works every time if you know what I mean…we mean sex…will get the DNC to feel up our city’s thigh enough where we can photograph it and bribe them to hold their conference here and then they’ll figure, “What the hell? Branson, MO Officials Aren’t Comfortable With a Nelly Concert

Branson, MO: Progress, diversity, words we mean the opposite of. For the second time, officials for country music mecca Branson, MO have denied a proposed concert by rapper and St. Louis native, Nelly. Concert organizer Paul Dunn announced on July 4 that Nelly would perform as part of the reopening of the Grand Palace. But the city on July 9 denied a special event permit, citing concerns about parking, crowd control and noise. [Read More]

Poopstock: Coverage Round Up

An update on what we’ve coined as “Poopstock“… In case you missed it, the (bird) shit hit the fan in St. Louis over the weekend when rock band Kings of Leon bolted from their show 3 songs deep because a bird pooped on them. Apparently the taste of bird shit was too much to handle despite the fact that they’ve been feeding us shitty songs for some time now. [Read More]

Because a Bird Shit on Kings of Leon, They Shit on Their St. Louis Fans

Now with press release update! (see below) We always thought their music was shitty… Three songs in to their show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater Friday night, Kings of Leon left the stage and their manager came out to announce that the show was over. It was being cancelled due to a safety issue “beyond their control” and there was no choice in the matter. As the crowd chanted “Bullshit! Bullshit! [Read More]

Kings of Leon Are a Bunch of Little Bitches

Update: See more posts on, what we’re calling, “Poopstock” here. We’re hearing a lot of anger towards over-rated band Kings of Leon that was scheduled to appear at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater tonight but quickly canceled their own show after only three songs. The reason for stoping the show short? “Band safety” aka “F*ck you St. Louis Kings of Leon fans.” So what’s the real story? We’re still trying to find out all the details, but one could piece a lot of the action together by following the chatter on Twitter: [Read More]

Pearl Jam Knows How to Work a St. Louis Audience

Pearl Jam doesn’t have any dummies working in the marketing department. They worked the St. Louis angle to a tee. The only thing else they could have done was put some thin crust pizza on there and make the Cardinal whine about the glory days of being in a all-dude high school. From The Ticket Guys’ who snapped a picture of a Pearl Jam concert poster and sent it out on their Twitter account. [Read More]

Video: Chuck Berry Live at Blueberry Hill

What better way to kick off your Friday? You may think you know that Chuck Berry is old, and its true, but no many know how old he really is. One day I saw Blueberry Hill owner Joe Edwards in a barbershop and I went up to him and said, “Joe, between you and me…how old is Chuck Berry.” Joe looks at me and says “Hey, Chuck Berry is 137 years old.
