Quick, Everyone Get Back on the Cardinals Bandwagon

Two weeks ago the Cardinals bandwagon was a pretty empty place. Tony LaRussa was on there, and the whole Fox Sports Midwest staff are contractually obligated to stay on there and make cheery promos to be run immediately after any blow-out loss by the Cardinals, but other than that there wasn’t much going on. Pujols even asked if he could use the extra bandwagon space in the off-season because he might have some moving that needs to be done. [Read More]

The Cardinals’ 2011 Season: Mission Accomplished!

Our crack investigative team has uncovered an internal memo that Tony LaRussa sent his “underling” General Manager John Mozeliak apparently, just after the close of the 2010 season. It’s been a rough go so far, and while no one knows what the rest of the season will hold, it appears that “Mo” has pleased his Hall of Fame manager boss by completing the plan just ahead of schedule! Nicely done John! [Read More]

Are the Cardinals Shipping Rasmus to the White Sox?

Joe Strauss, of the Post Dispatch, stirred up the seemingly always simmering pot of crazy Colby Rasmus chili with a report stating that the Cardinals were in deep talks to trade their former top prospect to the Chicago White Sox for starting pitcher Edwin Jackson or reliever Matt Thornton. Five reasons why this deal might happen: Colby’s a head-case. He’s always sad about being picked on because of something, and while he may not deserve all the flack he gets, the center fielder never seems to handle it well. [Read More]

Pujols Returns!

16 days. That’s how long it takes for a broken wrist to heal. You take any longer than that and you’re just milking it you pussy. That’s not us talking mind you, it’s Albert Pujols and he can do that because he set the bar yesterday miraculously returning to the Cardinals just over two weeks from the day he bashed his wrist against the Royals’ Wilson Betemit. After taking indoor batting practice and fielding grounders outside on Monday, Pujols said there was no pain and added that he felt great. [Read More]

St. Louis Reddit Puts on a Baseball Play

Social news site Reddit’s St. Louis community put on a little impromptu play using numerous fake accounts the other day in the comments of a post to the site entitled “Reddit help! I am pitching and I can’t make an out!” by “RyanFranklin“, a account faked in homage of the recently released St. Louis Cardinals closer.

There’s really nothing else that we can do other than show you a (probably now slightly outdated) screenshot after the jump (it’s a long image). Read the comments and check the byline for the characters such as “JoseQuendo11”, “tonylarussa”, “Mark_McGwire”, “DelTacoBuilding” and “FrancisSlay”

Enjoy it in all it’s glory!

Pujols Contract Season: Totally Going Just Like They Planned It!

Just six months ago everything was coming up Pujols. He was getting offered the big money for his next contract, and he was turing it down for bigger money. His agent, Dan Lozano, was out there telling his client “Hell yeah you should go in to your walk-year without a contract! Think of the money we could be offered on the open market! We’re talking huge money Al! The only thing that could go bad is that you have a bad season, but lucky for us you’ve never had a bad season! [Read More]

The Top 5 Other Things The Cardinals Were Happy About

Yeah! Pujols looked like Pujols the other night against the Cubs when he dropped two bombs on them, the last of which in the 12th inning to seal the victory. Here’s what it looked like via the St. Louis Post Dispatch: A great moment to be sure with lots of happy little Cardinal faces…almost too happy. Sure a walk-off victory against the Cubs is great, but if you were really the best fans in baseball you would have kept watching the game and noticed a few other things followed Pujols down the baseline that elicited the same jubilant reaction. Macho Man Randy Savage: Cardinal Farmhand

Everyone now knows that former professional wrestler Macho Man Randy Savage died last weekend in an apparently successful attempt to stop the rapture and, thus, save us all. He’s pretty much the new Jesus. But did you know that he was also an ex-Cardinal farmhand, playing in the low ends of the Cardinal system for a few years, never stopped loving the Cardinals, and even taught his then teammate a training technique that is still used today in the majors?
