PUNCHING KITTY: 2009 - 2013

Punching Kitty was a writing project for the city of St. Louis to have a little fun and try to get everyone to stop taking themselves so seriously…and hopefully highlight some critical issues along the way. Not everyone liked it (it turns out people don’t love being made fun of) but we converted a lot of people and I take pride that the site was truly well read. From the local media, to area police departments, Punching Kitty truly became a source for news and entertainment for St. Louis.

We had a lot of fun, but all good things need an ending and ours was on March 13th, 2013. When we closed up shop the news made local radio, TV, and even the front page of STLToday (The St. Louis Post Dispatch’s website) where we were the top story over a new pope being named. Wild stuff.

While we will no longer actively write, the site will stay up as an archive for St. Louis.

F*ck You Dodger Fans

Our St. Louis tipsters have been sending us the link to this video over and over again this weekend, and it really is totally f*cked up.  When you first start to watch it you may say, “Hey no mister!  Don’t blast all Dodger fans for one asshole!”  To that I say, keep watching…eventually the whole section shows its true colors: Dodger Dickhead Blue.

Malfunction Causes Blues Fans to Be Thrown From Escalator, But Say They Still Prefer it Than Going to a Rams Game

Pretty much one of the worst St. Louis sporting nights I can ever remember.

The Cardinals lose in pretty much the worst way possible to go down 0-2 in the NLDS, right now Mizzou dropped their first game of the season, the Rams still have St. Louis in front of their name, and the Blues lost!

…oh and at the Blues game one of the escalators freaked out, spun up to four times the normal speed and launched four fans right off of it!

St. Louis is the Third Best City to Travel Too…Because Its Cheap

carrieYup St. Louis got a compliment, but its a back handed one.  It’s cool.  We’ll take it.

The people at Travel + Leisure have rated St. Louis a great place to travel too…because its cheap…making St. Louis the Six Flags as opposed to something like Chicago’s Disney World.

Seriously though, we’ll take it.  We aren’t used to getting on “good” lists.  I kinda feel like that fat, weird girl finally getting asked out by a football player in high school!

The Playoffs Start Today, So Get Your Playoff Beards Going Dudes!

beard3Today marks the beginning of the major league baseball playoffs and the Cardinals are back in the mix since their 2006 world series winning campaign. Did you shave last night?  Good.  Now don’t do it again until the Cards are out of the playoffs, hopefully holding a sweet ass trophy. Its playoff beard time!

This time-honored, hockey invented tradition isn’t just for the crazy fans, the players get in to it too every year and I love it.  Wainwright was rocking his P.B. right along with me when he froze Beltran with a 12 to 6 curve and back a long time ago we used to have this third baseman Scott Rolen who got injured (again) going in to the playoffs and when asked about his availability for the playoffs he dropped a quote that went something like

St. Louisans Find Love at Area Walmarts

ap_walmart_070618_msIf you don’t think Walmart is in our midwestern blood stream like that really bad case of gonorrhea we got when I fooled around with that heiress bartender stripper hooker in the parking lot of the Casino Queen [Editor’s Note: Call me Porsche!], then you got another thing coming!  Not only do we buy mayonnaise in bulk there, we also tend to find love by the gallon!
