When Cardinals manager Tony LaRussa announced that he would return as the St. Louis skipper in 2011, he made the following comment:
You start thinking about goals. I came up with some goals, very specific ones. One of my goals is to have the media feel like I’m more loveable.
Tony was joking. Like really joking it turned out. 5 days in to the 2011 he’s already pulled the “storm out of the press conference bit”.

Did Pujols and the Cardinals Censor Joe Sports Fan?
Yesterday Cardinals closer, and recent discoverer of Twitter, Ryan Franklin tweeted out a photo of some country star or something who visited the team’s spring training site. The tweet, since removed, said “Got a rookie on the team @davidnail” with a link to this photo:
We didn’t even notice the awesomeness that this picture held in it’s background, but the guys at Joe Sports Fan.com did and it may have brought the wrath of the Cardinals and Albert Pujols, big bad #5, down on them.

Mitchell Page Died
Former Cardinals hitting coach Mitchell Page died in his sleep at age 59, and no other details are available at this time. Though it is worth pointing out, since no one else seems to, that Page was relieved from his position as hitting coach after the 2004 season because of a drinking problem and was said to have been pushed checked himself in to a rehab facility shortly after. It’s not known of his alcohol problem and his recent death are related, but 59 is pretty young to be going in your sleep without “help” from other issues.

This may be the most action you see out of any of the Rams as they could go from poppin’ and lockin’ to just locked out in a few days.
Good moves though. We bet that’s exactly what it would look like if a marionette was pooping on stage.

There’s Not a Lot to Say About Nick Punto
KSDK felt it necessary to post up a story about the new Cardinals reserve middle infielder Nick Punto having a groin injury, needing surgery and not being able to play until May, but they just didn’t want to elaborate much. Well there it is isn’t it? I just pretty much did the same thing they did…but better! Their story was all of 40 words long and our summary above came in at 22!
