The Admiral Riverboat is on Ebay

The old Admiral Riverboat is being auctioned off and it’s a damn shame they didn’t put this bucket up on Ebay a few weeks earlier than they did or we could have tacked in on to our list of worthless ebayed St. Louis items.

Ok, so technically it isn’t “worthless” since the “Buy It Now” price is a cool 1.5 Million

Though the boat has no official offers listed on the site currently, potential buyers have six days to mull the purchase of a big ass boat that is…

1. Old.

The SS Admiral was originally built in 1907 as a RR Ferry across the Mississippi.

2. Like all South City homes and celebs with daddy issues, it has had some additions, most of it probably being plastic.

The the 1930′s it was lengthened 70 ft.

3. Air Conditioned!

…at that time (1930s) the only air conditioned excursion boat in existence.

4. Not going anywhere…

It has been a permanently moored entertainment venue on the St. Louis, MO. River Front. The diesel engines and drive were removed approx. 20 years ago.

5. Needs a facelift

For long term use, on water, will require a new skin on the Hull.

Wow, sweet. 1.5 Million dollars sounds like quite a deal if you want to go get yourself the boat version of Diana Ross.

…the air conditioning would just be a bonus.

6 Pretty Much Worthless Ebay-ed St. Louis Items

Found on Ebay while watching the Rams piss away another win-able game:

“98 TONY BANKS ODYSSEY HOLOGOLD 1ST QTR /150 RARE” (link)

Starting bid: $0.99
Current bid: No bids.

$0.99 seems high for old Tony Banks. Really high. Like $1.50 high.

“2008 Upper Deck Signature Aaron Miles Autograph” (link)

Starting bid: $0.99
Current bids: 2
Winning bid: $1.50

God bless scrappiness! It’s the only reason he got enough bids to get two bids and $1.50. Here’s hoping the money is used wisely by ebay seller amiles_redbirdz4eva. Tony won’t be around to keep signing him forever.

“NOAH’S ARK Restaurant Children’s Menu St Charles MO” (link)

Starting bid: $8.99
Current bid: No bids.

$9 bucks for an old menu of a theme restaurant? This is why the terrorists hate us.

“St. Louis Cardinals Women T-shirt – M” (link)

Starting bid: $17.95
Current bid: No bids.

All the best shirts could be confused with a child’s bed sheets. This will look great in XXXL in section 443.

“VP Fair Beer Can Schell Brewing Co. 1982 SS Mint Nice” (link)

Starting bid: $1.49
Current bid: No bids.

Getting a beer at the VP fair? $0.50. Not drinking it: -4 hours of fun. Selling that same beer 28 years later? Apparently not priceless.

“St. Louis Cardinals Tony LaRussa autographed card” (link)

Starting bid: $2.99
Current bid: No bids.

Cards with Tony actually smiling are worth a lot more.

St. Louisan Sells Michael Jackson Stuff on EBay and the Same Story to Two Stations

A St. Louis couple decided to sell off their Jacko memorabilia on EBay, and actually netted some pretty good dough for the stuff.  Not only that, but they got on TV!  Thats right, they made the local news and took the time to record the news broadcasts with their camera and upload it to YouTube.

…they also, inadvertently, managed to illustrate how lame and formulaic local TV news has gotten.

Notes:

- In the Fox 2 segment, does John Auble sound even more drunk than normal?

- The “family friend” that modeled the jacket, seems to be pretty attractive.

- How the hell is something “almost leather?!”

Discuss amongst yourselves.
